1. All members must log in to the Pathways in the TI website (https://www.toastmasters.org/pathways-overview) to select your first pathway as soon as you receive your login details from TI.

2. Spend time to navigate the website to be familiar with how Pathways works. There are plenty of information and e-learning videos to guide you. Pathways is a very self-driven, self-directed online learning programme. We will not be able to walk you through on how to conduct your individual pathways and brief you on every project.

3. Read every project objectives and the guiding materials to know how to deliver the project, preferably before you book your speaking slot. As you attend meetings, listen to others’ speeches to get some ideas on the various projects. They will be helpful when it’s your turn to deliver those projects.

4. Approach your mentor for guidance. Get help on how to approach the project. You can seek advice on your prepared script if you send it early enough to your mentor. Please work with your mentor on how he/she advises you. Each mentor has a different mentoring style but they are committed to guiding you for all your Level 1 projects.

5. For Level 1 Project 2, there are 2 parts. For the First Speech, you will deliver a 5-7min speech and receive feedback. Then, you will schedule and deliver the Second Speech. You should try to incorporate the feedback from the First Speech and improve on the same or a new speech as your Second Speech. Therefore, please inform your Second Speech’s evaluator on the feedback you had received from the First Speech so that he/she can observe how you have improved.

6. For Level 1 Project 3, you have to deliver an Evaluation to a fellow member’s speech. Please approach your mentor on how to prepare and give an evaluation speech. It is certainly not easy to be giving feedback to another member when you are still trying to improve yourself and to deliver the verbal evaluation in 2-3 mins. Please note that giving an evaluation carries real responsibility. In MMTMC, we strive to give positive and constructive criticism. We do not want to destroy another member’s spirits because of a poorly prepared evaluation. We are sure you will similarly like an effective evaluation from the appointed evaluator when you deliver your speeches.

7. Print out your own project Evaluation Form which you can retrieve online for the project. Bring it to the meeting for your evaluator to fill and provide written feedback to you. Please DO NOT RELY on the club to provide your evaluation forms to the evaluators.

8. Watch your video after the meeting when it is uploaded to our Community Portal (our.mmtmc.rocks). Reflect on what you have done well and how you can further improve, considering the evaluator’s feedback.

9. Complete your post-project online self-evaluation and go on to prepare for the next project as it gets unlocked.

10. The Exco and the mentors are around to guide you on your journey to become a confident and effective communicator. Put in your best efforts, play your part and the mentors can then reciprocate.
